Light switch won't return to Off position - feels 'spongy'

Hi. I went into the garage yesterday, put the light on, did my chore, went to switch the light off - couldn't do it. The rocker only rocked back half way and had a weird 'spongy' feel to it. Can anyone suggest what's happened here? My thanks if you can.

Hi, usual caused is when something has whacked it from the front on the faceplate. It will require replacing if it's plastic you may want to use a metal one or a MK weather seal type.

Thanks for that. The switch is inside the garage and no-one but me was around so nothing could have hit it. Another one for the 'unexplained' file, possibly...

I've a few go like that, I guess it's just the rocker in the switch failing due to old age / use.
