Hi
I am planning on running some cables to extend the lighting circuit into my extension.
Once the ceiling is boarded I will probably add led down lights but while I am working temporarily will add an LED batten type light.
I will add 100mm PIR insualtioin between the trusses and then overboard that with 25mm PIR insulation. The plan will then be to add some 50mm battens over the insulation for the plasterboard to stick on to and provide a void for electrics.

What would be the best place to clip the 1.5 T and E to on the trusses? I understand safe zones from feed will need to run vertically or horizontally from the cable I take it from

I was thinking of adding a light switch one side of the old external door will would it best to go straight up and then go for the top steel beam does and then run the cables down from there?
Do safe zones still apply at ceiling area?
Any advice on the route to take ?
Thanks

P.S please ignore cables in the wall this was the old garage feed and no longer used!

No safe zones to worry about in the ceiling. No need for 1.5mm cable for lights. Use 1.0mm, save money, save copper, and easier to handle.

Would you aim for the steel beam in middle and put some galvanised cable around it or just clip it to edge of the rafter?
