hi i am an apprentice electrician, i am wanting to put a 2 gang switch in the garage to control an outside light and an internal light, any ideas on the best way to do this, cheers rich

What do you currently have in the garage, electrics-wise? What supply arrangements are there? Is there already a light there?

You being an apprentice electrician, i would expect you to have some idea how to do this, to be honest - depending on how long you have been an apprentice, of course!.

lol, i would think so to... im second year but not been gettin the experience i needed at my job :? , i have now moved to a different firm where i am starting to learn.

right......

in the garage there is a fused spur from the house, at the minute the flourescent is wired from the f/s and the outside light is looped off the flourescent.. i am wanting to put a 2 gang switch in to control to lights independently.... cheers 8)

Take the feed to the outside light - OUT of the fluorescent, and down to the new switch location. Tap into the cable between the FCU and the light to fit the switch. Wire all the neutrals together, and all the earths together. Then connect both COMs to the live feed, and each L1 to a light live.

And im not even a spark
