Hi all, can you advise me please, Do I have to have my lighting circuits on the RCD side of my consumer unit. Things trips when bulbs go, and the old girl is doing my head in.
Cheers, George
If they are on the RCD now, then they probably have to be. You certainly dont get the option of moving it off the RCD now the 17th edition is in force.
But a simple bulb blowing event shouldnt cause an RCD to trip, only the MCB. If the RCD trips I would be concerned.
Moving the lights off the RCD will not reduce the number of MCB trips.
