Hello all.

A bulb in our bathroom light exploded today. So we went and bought some new light bulbs and replaced them. The bathroom and stair landing lights upstairs work fine, but the lights in the other two rooms don't turn on at all. Nothing else has changed with the lights. It's just that all of a sudden the bathroom light works after replacing a blown bulb and the two bedrooms lights don't work.

The upstairs lights are all on one trip switch, and the downstairs on another. The switch was not tripped. The downstairs lights work fine but the upstairs they only work on the landing and the bathroom - three bedrooms have no lights.

I've taken the bathroom light off and checked connection and they all look connected nice and tightly.

Any ideas?

Check for loose connections in the existing lights that work - this may have caused the light to explode due to fault current conditions. Be careful

Sounds like you have lost a neutral and/or live connection, somewhere between the bathroom light and the next light in the circuit.
They could have become loose or damaged!
Ideally you need to test for continuity and voltage between the two.
