Hi all,
I'm planning to be fit a Hansgrohe iBox as part of a shower install. The main body of the unit has the 4 way threaded water connections. It's the type that needs either ptfe tape or Loctite 55. Since this entire unit is going to be concealed in the wall, i'd like to make sure these connections are solid. Instead of PTFE some people i've seen recommend Loctite 55 and some go further to use liquid Loctite instead that sets and locks the thread and seals it permanently as it hardens. I like the idea of the liquid one. Can anyone recommend a product for this? I briefly came across Loctite 577, not sure if this is suitable? Any recommendations would be much appreciated.
Also, since the fittings going into it are then going to be olive compression, is that safe and permanent to hide and conceal behind the wall? when using brand new olive compressions, for piece of mind should i always just apply fernox LS-X just for the piece of mind?
