Are there any restrictions on where a gas meter box can be installed? Is there a guide anywhere? We don't currently have gas at the property and just trying to get my head around where things would go if we got a connection. It is in the road. Neighbours just got connected.

Been a long time when I worked for a gas transporter , but at the time it was recommended to be on the front of the house or withing 1M from the front if on the side of the house but lots of other factors come into where it will be located

no restrictions unless its a medium pressure supply feeding it .
i take it your getting a boiler fitted so if you can get get it close to where boiler is being positioned that would be ideal . just remember the further away from the road connection it is the more expensive it will be. Also allow for where drains etc are . They also do boxes that can be partially buried in the ground instead of up on the wall
