Loft Electrical Wiring Through Stud Walls Include Head and Sole Plate

Hello,

I am doing DIY work on my loft, I have build up the stud walls and now am ready to do the first fix wiring and I need some guidance on where to drill the holes for the 2.5mm for ring and 1.5mm for lighting.

my stud walls are 89mm x 38mm, can I drill a 20mm hole to the studs including the head and sole plate? To feed the 2.5mm to the sockets from below and 1.5mm from above, i need to drill through the sole plate - is this acceptable and within building/electrical regs?
