should be fine, but I guess they are coming from holes in the wall behind, so you might find the draughts come through elsewhere. If there's any way of blocking the holes at source, it would be a lot better.
If it's behind the sink, you can get there easily.
a smoke stick would prbably help, especially on a cold/windy day.
