Damn! Such quick replies, thanks a lot! I've just had a cup of tea and figured it out - easy when you know how! so simple in fact, lol
I deleted the question without checking the thread thinking no-one would reply that quick, then I get a full answer, Wow!
Thanks a lot

but unfortunately I can't find the pics
A likely story!!
Two reds in the loop terminals, black from mains to N and black from switch (sleeved red at both ends) to the L. Sleeve the cpc in G/Y.
By the way - I have figured it out slightly different, but the same result, but from an electrician's point of view, should the red live wire from the mains be on the Loop, as you've suggested, or can it be on the "Live" screw terminal (as I figured it out)?
It's simple in that the switch just breaks the circuit between the Live and Loop terminals.
and PS. Re: the pics

-- I've spent much of the day going through old DVD data disks, CD's and even recovered data from a formatted drive (and still doing so in the background!)
All the best

PS. Davy
I checked the Wiki and it's not the same as what you posted.
That's a good diagram, but this wiring assumes just one 3 core mains cable and not two, i.e. no "supply to next light", as well as a switch fitting with 2 lives and an earth.
All the best
