Hello im new to this forum and hopeful someone can help!

We have had 12 loft (optilight) windows installed recently and have noticed condensation dripping onto the internal wood frame. Its only happening on 3 of the 12 windows.

See pics for detail.

Does anyone know why this is happening and also what we can do abt it..if anything?!

Thanks so much x

though in your case it might be water penetration due to bad fitting.

You say condensation, but condensation will show itself on the internal surface of the glass.

We have checked fitting...it all seems ok. The outer bit of window frame seems to be letting drips of water onto the internal frame...none of the other 8 windows are doing this.

Its hard to explain in words and not sure pictures explain themselves !

Thank you so much..i think we defo need to add vents/insulation as we have a 1930s property and have maybe over insulated.

Ok so the builder has explained it again to me...basically condensation on cladding is dripping inside.

Now it has been plastered you can see damp patches.

I have read on other forums something abt putting down felt/insulation up to window frame...could it possibly be this? We are really stuck as need to rectify asap as it is holding up decorating ;(

Any pointers most welcome. The condensation is building up on steep outer bit of window frame and then dripping in.

Thank you for reading!

basically condensation on cladding

is this cladding on the inside of the building, or the outside?

The builders story sounds rather unconvincing.

Do you know the manufacturer of the windows? Have a look on their website and look for diagrams showing the correct installation process.

Take as many photos as you can of the installation of your own windows.

When i say cladding i mean the internal metal frame just about wood bit of frame..if that makes sense?!

They are optlight roof windows. Yes i think we will need to spk with the manufacturer re installation asap.

Thank you x
