Hello

The lock latch in the attached picture is broken and I need to replace it.

I'm looking for this exact item because as you can see it has been carved into the side of the door.

Measurements:
Length: 6cm
Width narrow side: 1cm
Width wide side: 1.5cm

For whatever reason struggling to find it...

This is the search terms you could be looking for?

if you show us the actual latch as well (not just the strike plate) from the end, as well as the handles on bnoth sides of the door, it may help. There is very likely to be a maker's name stamped on the end.

I can't see anything unusual about your strike plate, except it looks like it operates an anti-thrust bar on the latch.

Not sure why those would be of any importance if those items are sold separately. The only thing stamped on the latch is EUROSPEO and it a standard door latch. I can take a picture tomorrow when there's day light.

the picture is of a strike plate. They are normally sold complete with the latch, not on their own.

Until I see yours, I will guess it is a tubular latch.

but it might be a hotel-style knobset

It is a tabular one indeed

But I can't seem to find one matching my measurements ?

take out the tube, and measure the exact distance from the end-plate to the centre of the hole for the doorknob spindle. That's the "backset". Some are odd measurements in mm, converted from fractions of an inch, and some are round numbers of mm.

I presume you have quoted the length of the case (tube) and 60mm is unusually short, so it will be difficult to find one that matches you hole for your handles.

Your brand might be Eurospec.

If you only need the plate and your latch is OK, you will have to buy a latch and throw away the unwanted part.
