Screw connectors will be fine. If the back box or switch plate is metal the earths will need to be connected to the earth terminals on them. Thanks guys. Haeger switches are not an option as I have gone for the screwless fittings throughout. Based on the above, this leaves me with the option of wago connectors or the terminal blocks?
Also, with all the scare stories, can I please check that there are no issues with following this configuration?
The light cable will then connect to L, N and E terminals on the light.
I can do without any bangs on this occasion.
Maybe DS was right about my skills with Tarot cards, thenClipsal switches also have loop terminals.
Yep, I'd say that is the generally preferred way to do it.earth cables connected to the switch and then a flylead connected to the earth terminal on the back box too?
No, I was talking about metal switches. If your screwless switch is plastic (I'm not sure I've seen one of those), then there probably wouldn't be anywhere on it to connect the earths to, so they'd just go to the backbox (if metal) or into some sort of terminal block if the backbox was also plastic.I thought @JohnW2 suggested that I connect earth leads to screwless socket (plastic) and then have a flylead between the socket and earth terminal on the metal back box?
What clips onto the front of that - is it not metal? My screwless switches are plastic but do have an earth terminal. Please see below. ... hence the flylead suggestion
