We are installing 100% Semi Worsted Wool, Loop Pile as a carpet runner for our stairs. The carpet's pile runs vertically. The guy at the carpet store said we should install the carpet horizontally (something about the loops at the edges may not match up?)
My gut is that running the carpet (it has lines of loops if you can imagine) horizontally will look strange on a vertical stairway.
Any thoughts on this? My google searches have thus far indicated that the pile should run vertically, as i believe.
