I think this has been asked before but there wasn't any sensible answer. The fittings on my toilet pan that locate the quick release seat are sliding around and no matter how much I clean the pads and tighten the screws, it still slides around. When I removed them for the first time since the toilet was installed, I found that the rubber bungs were proud of the pan top so the pads were not fully in contact with the pan. I had to remove some of the plastic pads to clear the bung. Unfortunately this has left even less contact area for the plastic pads. The pads are not particularly grippy either as they are a hardish plastic. I was thinking of bedding them down on some silicone sealant but would be interested to hear if there is a better solution. Thanks.

A pic says a 1000 words. Show us what the problem is as the pin brackets for quick release seats are relatively straightforward and so are the expansion plugs that locate into the pan that the screws tighten down to. Not a lot to go wrong and it should all tighten back down, once cleaned, quite easily.

Swap the hard plastic pads for rubber or silicone washers that grip better. You can cut your own from a sheet of rubber or use anti-slip drawer liner material.

Yes, I will get some clear silicone sheet, maybe 1mm or 2mm thick and cut my own washers. I can maximise the contact area this way as I won't need the full adjustment slot. Cheap enough to try.
