I am going to lay marble tiles as a gas fireplace hearth. The width is going to be about 1300mm and the depth 600mm with the tiles 10mm thick. I want to keep the tiles all the same size but I have yet to see any tile that will fit the bill without being cut. The question is what is the best way to cut these. I already have a cheapo electric tile cutter that works fine with ceramics. How powerful a cutter would I need to cut 10mm marble tiles?

Cheers mate, looks like my old cutter might be getting a new blade.

Marble is quite a soft stone your old diamond blade will be fine if its got anything left on it at all.
