As title really when using the mixer tap for the bath everything is fine, however when trying to use the shower attachment attached to the taps you either get all hot (hot tap turned fully open and cold just slightly opened)or all cold (when the cold tap is opened up enough to bring the water temperature to a bearable level), once this fine line is passed it all goes very cold indeed. Is there a way of either decreasing the cold water pressure to match that of the hot or increasing the hot. Just to add to this one of the main reasons this problem exist is because for some strange reason all the cold water feeds in our house are direct from the mains.

Thanks

cold mains gravity hot
mixer taps with shower outlets need balanced pressures to be able to control the heat better.

you can fit a pressure reducing valve to the cold bath tap.
you can run a seperate cold to the tap from the loft cws tank.
you can fit a pump to the hot supply

Thanks for the speady response. Are there any pros and cons to each option, as it appears that the first option maybe the quickest and cheapest, however I could be wrong.

Thanks

if your happy with the pressure of the hot on its own fitting a reducing valve will be ok cause thats what your cold willbe reduced to same as the hot.

running a new cold supply from the loft can be alot of agro and will get the same result as above.

and running the hot off a pump is ok if you can stand the noise everytime the tap is run.
not an option i would opt for.

or just fit a shower and keep the mixer/shower for filling bath and washing bath down.

I have considered the other option of a seperate shower, however am I right in thinking they should be wired directly to the fuse board?

Thanks

Jeremy

only if you opt for a electric shower, like 9.5 kw

or go for a power shower that runs off both your hot/cold water supplys
with a pump in the unit but only requires a 3 amp fused spur.
example

or fit a wireless digital shower, 3 amp spur, blinding powerful shower, but abit dearer example

depends what you wanna spend, and how easy install you want, with less pulling the bathroom about.
