Lounge Water Feature :(

We were doing some preparatory work prior to having a new carpet fitted today. However on Saturday I discovered just where the cowboy who built the extension had buried the water pipes to the utility room. Imagine the scene - drill hole in floor and withdraw drill at which point I get hit in face by jet of cold water. Put foot over hole which at least stops the fountain. Yell for Linda who assumes she will find me with a limb off having cut it with the chop saw. I get Linda to put foot on hole whilst I turn off the water, I confess that this happened only after I had Panicked and said at least twice "I don't know what to do"! Yes OK it was Linda that said to turn off the water. Spent afternoon chiseling out concrete to expose pipe (plastic) with neat 5mm hole in it.

Now to sort out solution for no cold supply to utility room.

I've always wondered why they don't put a few metal threads into the outer coating of plastic pipework so that pipe detectors pick them up...

You did use a pipe detector, right?
