I am about to lay underlay on a new 17.5 deg pitched single storey lean to extension on my house.
The roof is a wet roof with vented soffit boards, for ventilation can I take the underlay/ felt up to the ridge and leave a 5mm gap for ventilation, or do i have to take the underlay up the vertical wall to sit under the flashing and then fit vent tiles?

You can do either.

If you want to vent it at the wall abutment, then you need propriatary abutment ventilation strips - these sit under the lead.

Or just use a breathable felt
