Hi,

I have a 3 year old Brandt free-standing cooker using bottled butane gas, connecting to the cooker via a flexible hose (renew date on hose is 2020). There is a regulator on the bottle (28mBar)

Yesterday, just as I finished cooking on the hob I noticed all the flames on the burners were very low, usually a sign the bottle is empty. I changed the bottle but there was still no great flame coming from any burner (they would not light all the way round unless I just used one, but even that was a very feeble flame). The oven will not light at all.

Each burner has it's own flame control valve, they appear to be functioning correctly.

I have changed the regulator and checked the bottle/regulator combination at a friends house, worked fine.

It seems that there is not enough pressure reaching the hob or oven burners but I have checked there are no obstructions in the flexible pipe or the pipe to the gas controls. As the problem affects all burners and the oven I think it must be something simple.....

Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

Rob.

Called out a gas fitter, must have been his presence because after he had seen the problem it suddenly righted itself and is now fine!
Another of life's little mysteries.....
