I have a low voltage transformer (GTRE 150) that shows two mains supply positions. One states L N the other state N L. My question is does it matter which one I use for the main supply? All help appreciated.

You can use either.
Its a loop in, loop out transformer that allows you to take the mains feed in on one pair (L&N) and out of the other pair.
