Hi All

I am converting a 7.5 ton truck into a motorsport motorhome

Can I use a LPG Combi boiler running off a gas bottle for my hot water and 2 or 3 small radiators?

Was thinking of plugging into a good inverter for power supply?

Can anybody give me advice please?

Could I do it?

What problems would / could I have?

Obviously I wouldn’t fit it myself just asking is it possible.

Thanks

Yes that would work.
A glow worm betacom B class will set you back about £450 quid+fitting.
24kW.
I would suggest the radiators and piping in plastic to handle the vibration.

Refillable propane bottle you can fill up at autogas stations.
This would need to be mounted in a box that opens externally to the inside
of the vehicle. Although you might need to checkup on that point.
If wanting hot water when not hooked up to a water point I would suggest
installing an cold water accumulator tank. That would allow you to store
maybe 100 to 150 litres of cold water at pressure for hot water and cold supply.

Only problem you might come across using an inverter is that the boiler electronics might not like it.

Most modern boilers need a good earth connection and some do not like running on generators

Just asking for trouble in my opinion. Combi boilers aren't designed for being rattled round in a motorhome. Stick to caravan specific appliances that are designed for that sort of application.
