Lucy Connolly to be freed

Bet she wouldn't have been locked up if she was American

Lucy Connolly is the ultimate victim of Britain's two-tier justice system. She was jailed for being tier two (against the regime) whereas the tier-one (regime-supporting) Ricky Jones got off scot-free. She is a political prisoner of an extremely evil government, akin to Solzhenitsyn in the Soviet era. Arguments over the legal processes (the plea, the advice, the remand) are irrelevant; if you zoom out it is clear that she is morally in the right. Lucy Connolly has a massive case against Starmer's government, but sadly there is no way in this hellish system that she could ever bring it.

Bigoted nonsense. You'll fit in well with the gammons on here.

I wonder what would have happened if she had taken her chances with a jury like Ricky Jones did.

I would suspect 15 reasonable members of the public would have concluded she was no direct threat to anyone, what she wrote was clearly wrong but treating her as some dangerous terrorist was way OTT

the jury were right with Ricky Jones, what he said should be water off a ducks back to any reasonable person, the only difference between Lucy and Ricky was they were on opposing sides of starmers far left fence

we need to protect free speech even when it does not suit our own views

Free speech doesn't mean you can break the law, especially in the midst of widespread riots.

That doesn't make sense. Both were prosecuted.

one went in front of a jury, the other took bad advice and was crucified by some magistrate or judge following orders and advice to amke an example. that was not good and fair justice,

Like him and plenty of others tweeting hate?

It seems to me that Lucy Connolly was jailed because she received bad legal advice. Ricky Jones on the other hand was acquitted because he received good legal advice.

There must of been 100s if not 1,000s of similar or even worse tweets - did they all go to prison or was it just a woman who was married to a conservative councillor.

She should’ve pleaded not guilty, I think she would’ve been acquitted.
