Hi
My husband stripped our 30's lounge and the plaster was in good condition so he sanded, lined and painted it.
He's not a decorator but we're on a shoestring so he did the job with his brother.
Can anyone advise what has gone wrong? Patches of it are lumpy and uneven ( not bubbled ) and look way worse than they did before.
Any advice as to how to remedy it would be great.

the walls wasn't flat before being papered, and possibly some grit left behind when carrying out the wallpapering.

what grade of lining paper did you use?

thats a very close up shot, and i'm sure from a distance probably doesn't look as bad. to lessen the chances of it getting highlighted paint the walls in a matt paint, this will reduce the light reflecting on the surface and reduce the visibility of the lumps and bumps.

was there wall paper on the walls before being stripped?
