Did a divertor on the Lynx1 last week.

Not too troublesome.

Did a heat ex on a Lynx2 today and again...not so much bother.

Good old boilers and are worth a repair.

I agree Soggy The lynx 2 was the best combi EVER!!!!

and what did potterton do when they realised they had released a boiler that was extremely reliable and hardly ever needed repairing

Yes they siezed production and introduced the PUMA

Sorry Tony, just reread your comment - it does clearly say some but due to the late hour, I didn't register its importance!

Have now fixed the leak as per your advice, thanks again.

To the other posters, nice to see the Lynx 2 still has friends out there.

When I bought it, way back when, I simply liked the look of it on my heating supplier's wall so decided to buy it - especially as it was made by those reliable Potterton people (don't laugh).

Not very scientific was it?

Ass all my colleagues have said its a very nice reliable design.
its such a pity that potterton decided shortly afterwards to bring out the Puma.

The Puma sold well ( on their name ) but it really was a very poor design with some apparently "designed in" expensive faults requiring parts and parts.

AAV leaks onto gas valve!

gas valve fails and takes out PCB

Diverter valve fails due to very small inside part.

that very small part is deleted

Pattern part made to fit.

Diverter modified to PREVENT fitting that small part!

DHW diaphragm unit designed to take out switch when it leaks.

All designed to make it a VERY expensive boiler to maintain!
