Hello, hoping somebody may be able to help with an issue i’m experiencing with my Combi boiler.
The boiler has run perfectly well until a couple of weeks ago when there was a power cut. On attempting to turn boiler back on after power cut it began to blow fuses as soon as power was supplied. Called out Gas Engineer who diagnosed fan or pcb causing fuses to blow, replaced both with new and everything was fine for a couple of weeks until on running hot water one evening boiler started to show e160 fan error. I turned off boiler via spur and on switching back on fan kicks up instantly at high speed, showing e160 error. Obviously this is not correct, but before i get an engineer out again, i wondered if anybody had any experience of similar issues that have occurred after a power cut or what may cause the fan to run loudly as soon as power is supplied to boiler? I'm already well out of pocket because of this issue and would like to make sure that the next repair is permanent.

Thankyou

I'd be calling the engineer and asking why this is happening. He was the last man in and should come back to investigate what the issues are after he "repaired" the fault. You could call the manufacturer and run the story by them so that you have some knowledge before calling back the engineer.

could be a faulty new fan , will be under warranty if it is, but could just be the fan control side connector is just not connected properly

Thanks for the suggestions, i’ll give Main a ring tomorrow and see what they have to say.
