Hello,
If on the observations it says Main switch undersized.
The switch is described as 60A BS 5419 can the switch itself be replced ? Or does the CU have to be changed?
Thanks in advance

As long as the cable is adaquete why would you want to change the switch?

You can buy replacement switches, although I fail to see why you would want to. Have you had any trouble with it?

Hello,
No problems, but the periodic tester has put it in recommendations that the 16mm supply cable and the 60A main switch are undersized.

Depending on your consumer unit you can replace the switch. Read my response in your other thread regarding the PIR and getting a spark in to do the work.

Hello,
It is on a BS 1361 B Type 100A. The supply conductors are 16mm and the main switch rating bs 5419 60A, and the earth is 10mm.
What size should the tails be changed to, and what size the earth?
Thanks in advance.

THATS ALL WELL AND GOOD BUT:

Is it undersized for the supply, or undersized for the load?

If an electrician has issued a PIR, it should be obvious to anyone why he has put what he has put. If it is not obvious to you, you should ask him to explain it.

If a mechanic said to you:

OOOOHHHHHhhh, your clutch sprocket has disengaged from your rimming pin

would you just nod and sgree whilst handing over the cash?

Get the man you have paid to do this job to earn his money and explain his reasoning!

25mm² tails.
16mm² main earth.
10mm² main equipotential bonding

Did your sparky actually see the main fuse? The rating on the cover of the service fuse is often inaccurate so perhaps the person who fitted the tails knew something you/he didn't. On the other hand, you could probably contact your DNO and ask them, but they may send someone out to check.
