Mains feed supply

Isolate the mains and then open a HW tap(s) to release any pressure. The combi valve has a check valve so there shouldn't be any backflow but just in case. The only issue you may have is from the balanced supply that's heading out right from the combi valve in the pic, as it's heading upwards you may have to empty that.
Some installers do it, it can hide a multitude of poor soldering and some think it neatens things up 
just about every new build for about the last 25/30 years usually have them painted
