hi,
sorry if this is in the wrong place, or the subject is already covered elsewhere...
i am in the process of lifting a section of suspended ground floor to install some insulation. on doing this i have discovered the mains gas supply under the floor looked to be in very poor condition. it looked to have been originally coated in a bitumen in its distant past, it is however now a very flakey length of corrosion. am i to be concerned about its condition?
if it needs inspection, and maybe replacement, would i be responsible for any cost implications related to it, or is it national grids responsibility?
thanks in advance,
john
