we are having problems with our central heating. it is about 10 years old,the boiler is in the kitchen. the pipes coming out of the boiler make a loud noise when it first comes on,the only way i can describe the noise is it sounds like an elephant!! most rads up stairs are cold,have tried bleeding but nothing comes out,air or water. if i leave them for a day or 2 loads of air comes out. i was thinking trapped air? i don't know. please can someone help as we have 4 cold children!

I'm only an amateur, mate - but I'd say get a central heating engineer out pronto.
