HI all, I need to get hold of a cat ladder to remove something (antenna rotator & aerials) from a chimney (I normally don't need one for mine but this house owner insists) so I was thinking of getting a kit - screwfix do them.

Using this convert a spare ladder I have - seems easy enough however there are bearer bars on pro cat ladders so I'm thinking of just putting strips of wood across the ladder.

Question is - are these fitted at any specific distances for a tiled roof?

I do not need to buy a full cat ladder (the whole thing is not worth it) and its just needed for 1 use so please - I don't need telling to buy a proper ladder :)

I made a cat ladder out of an ordinary ladder by using some ladder hooks and I taped some of that grey foam pipe lagging to the ladder to give it some grip and cushion it from the slates/tiles.

I did just the same with that 22mm pipe lagging.

Cheers guys, thats a good idea.
I take it that the gaffa tape had an outing for this somewhere? lol
