dimly aware that inflatable roof racks that rest directly on the thin metal of the roof are a thing but I think I'd prefer to install a proper one - cars that can take a roof rack typically have rails and clips with dedicated mounting points and the rack has the matching mechanism so a rack install is a no-tool affair. I wouldn't have a problem installing one on a mate's car; there isn't any lasting indication that a clip/clamp on/off roof rack has been usedunless of course there is a universal one that you can buy, which you can install and uninstall quickly like a bike rack?
My triple are made by Lyte, and came new from an eBay seller. A hasty look found a 7m double Lyte branded set from a seller called henrys_ladders for £280, which seemed to be the most reasonable price for that brandi think because these ladders are so specialist, you have to buy them online really.
