Making the ceiling higher ?

Hi we have a stair case like this however we would like to make the ceiling higher in this section so it eats into some of the loft… maybe 1 metre higher then it
Is now.

I can appreciate the joists in the loft will need this section cutting out and also aware the joists are there to stop the roof from spreading . If I was to re attach the ceiling joists higher up onto the eaves would this be a acceptable method or is there a better way? Thanks

Do you mean the flat ceiling above the picture or the bulkhead in the picture? Also ....... why?

Yes that’s the one we are wanting to board that section out and make a little office area however to have clear headroom for the main stairs it will have to be higher thanks Jake
