So the Swiss have narrowly voted in favour of digital ID cards

I think Flip Flop needs to put it to the UK electorate before he decides on potentially wasting billions

Not sure what the Swiss split was, however I think for any significant vote put to the public, there should be a minimum 56% in favour for it to be carried.

It would go at least some way to reducing ongoing debates and arguments thereafter re why the change should never have happened. When it's a close vote (not far from 50/50) it stands to reasons the change will never be considered a good thing by a significant majority, unless of course said change exceeds most folks expectations.
