I had a very old cast iron manhole cover crack and I have decided to replace the frame aswell. The dimensions of the manhole itself are 480mm x 600mm, and I have had problems finding a correct sized replacement frame and cover. A new clarksteel 450mm x 600mm frame is not wide enough so I was advised to use a 600mm x 600mm frame and cover. The width of the 600mm frame slightly overlaps the 480mm wide opening (reaching the end of the bricks on both sides) and I was wondering the best way to fit the frame securely?
Hope this makes sense!

I have sucessfully fixed down a Plastic frame that came with a modern Clarksteel lid - by drilling through it and simply plug and screwing into the bricks
