Hi there

first off - thanks to everybody who has offered advice in this forum - it has helped me sort out a lot of what I need to do (being a bit of a DIY novice).

Anyway, our flat had textured wallpaper on all the ceilings, which we disliked. In two of the rooms we've stripped ceiling and walls, put up lining paper and painted and they look great!

In the living room, however, the ceiling is not looking so hot. Stripping it is slow going, and there seems to be a rough sandpapery surface under some of the paper. In other areas the plasterboard has big dents showing a kind of cardboardy surface underneath.

Anyway, given the state of it we reckon lining paper is going to be nothing like enough - so what do we do, plaster it? And what state does it need to be in before plaster is put up?

Thanks for help!

Keith

Have you considered using supaglypta paper?..its very thick and covers a rough ceiling well...allthough you will still need to prep it a bit first.
