So at moment living room thermometer is showing 18.5°C which is not warm enough, the TRV heads are set to 22°C so if the heating runs the living room will warm up, and I have three thermostats which link to the boiler, my wife's bedroom TRV head, the hall wall mounted thermostat, and the living room thermostat, and first reaction is since I want living room warmer, turn up living room thermostat.
However, it does not matter what the living room and hall thermostats are set at, the living room and hall TRV heads are set higher, so they will both heat up.
But the bedroom TRV will stop bedroom heating, unless turned up, but turn up the bedroom TRV, and the room heats up fast, so it has turned off again before living room has warmed up.
Unless the sun comes out, in which case the reverse can happen, living room gets warm, but TRV head still running the central heating.
While writing this, sun came out, and now where I am sitting in living room, showing 20°C.
Solar generation also changing, 750 watt to a couple of kW within minutes, and once battery fully charged, I am better using electric to oil.
Last year oil was cheap, but this year doubled in price, so looking at battery at 78% but charging at 3 kW, so it will not stay at that for long.
So it is a juggling act, deciding how to heat the home.
