Probably a crazy idea, but ...

I have some Mapei tanking solution and won' be needed it all.
In my bedroom I have solid brick walls and bay windows. The reveals get mouldy every winter, because condensation soaks in and makes them wet (def not leaks etc.)
So, I was wondering, could I paint the reveals with Mapei to make it waterproof, and then paint over with a glossy / non-absorbent white paint, to try to stop the mould?

You can use waterbased eggshell but all that will happen is that the moisture will run down the window reveals to the window sill.

You won't get the mould building up on the wall, but the water may in time run down to the carpet and rot it.

Airflow will reduce the issue, can you leave a window slightly open?

I think we'd keep on top of the water. I think the biggest challenge is that the moisture soaks into the wall where it slowly builds up over winter to a large patch on each side.

An open window is tricky as we live on a main road and in winter it sounds much louder. Plus, it gets a bit chilly!

Fair enough.

If the windows are uPVC, you may be able to fit trickle vents that will allow some airflow.

would they be enough to prevent condensation on the wall though?

Difficult to say.

If you have curtains that, ultimately block airflow to the window area, they will help. I cannot say how much though.

I can recommend a guy who specialises in this kind of stuff but I don't know which area you are in

Plan B. Stuck 6mm cork to reveals. Will caulk and paint. Hopefully that will be enough to stop the condensation issues.
Planning to have the heating on less this winter. Looks a bit rough, but the curtains will cover most of it.
