Mapei tile adhesive from B and Q

just about to buy some for a tiling job and have read that Mapei brand sold in B and Q is not as good as Mapei elsewhere which puzzles me - is there any truth in this? I thought a brand was a brand..

I need the powder not ready mixed. Last time I looked on BQ website they had it, looks like its not there now...

Yes it is a weird carry-on. If I recall the B&Q brand had something to do with buildfix, which is now branded as Mapei and claimed to be of a lesser quality. I have used it more expensive than the original form tile shops but never had any problems with it.

hmmm ok strange, I think I'll buy elsewhere anyway....

still on the subject of B and Q - I was looking at some large wall tiles there last night approx 400 x 250 - not very flat!!!
