Marseille

Horsham is being looked at for housing a few thousand migrants ??? ;)

Obviously

Locals will welcome them with open arms ;)

This caper in Marseille may well be old need to some ???

But it’s new news to many other people ;)

Report on the news about the situation last night
Report was on occasions a bit garbled due to the automatic gun fire and the reporters having to take cover

Trump would have sent in the national guard with orders to use maximum violence ;)

Mass deportations ;)

Perhaps Macron should seek his advice or seek his help ????

Went over 25th November for the football, stayed about a 20 minute walk from the train station.

Spent 2 days walking around with Newcastle shirts on and had no issues at all, a Marseille fan even arranged to get us tickets for the match and escorted us on the tube so we knew where we were going.

2 of us walked back to the hotel at about 3am again no hassle from anyone we saw just banter about the result.

From what I saw the place has some really nice areas and some rougher areas pretty much like any town or city in the UK, the same goes for the people, folks from all walks of life and ethnicity didn't notice any trouble.

There was trouble the day before the match but from speaking to people that were there it was the usual groups who go looking for it more than innocent people getting jumped. There was issues with the police in the away end after the match but I'd left before that so couldn't comment on it.

As usual it's root cause is poverty

"in scores of poor neighbourhoods lacking jobs and opportunities, the drug trade has filled the void, exploiting the labour of teenagers at the behest of a privileged few"
It's cause is immigrants from North Africa. Speak to anyone in France and they confirm this.
