Can masonary drills cause damage to the surrounding brickwork due to the hammer action?
I'm planning to drill using a 12mm drillbit, and looking into the new type of masonary drills that don't need the hammer action, though not sure if I could just use my old one that needs the hammer action on my drill?

If you are worried about upsetting your brick work use a 6mm first then the bigger one.
