Hi, I have attempted to fix mdf skirting board to a very uneven brick wall with Gripfill which didn't hold so I also used a few masonary nails.

They were extremely hard to hammer in, and i have managed to get most of them almost flush with the skirting board but not quite. What can i do to drive them in further in without damaging the skirting board and that they are unnoticeable once I paint?

Would a nail punch do the job?

Thank you.

If you used the correct glue then you can remove any proud nails as it will hold the skirting alone. When gluing the boards they have to be held in position until the glue cures.

can you get the nails back out?if so then use a drill and screw it back.
if not then do as suggested use a punch,BUT make sure youve got eye protection.from a personal point of veiw i find masonry nails to be dangerous b'stards the heads can fly off like a bullet from a gun.
