I have a kitchen ceiling where the plaster is a bit rough and not suitable for simple emulsion. To give a smooth finish and cover minor imperfections I was thinking about Sandtex Masonry Paint, which is water based and gives off little or no odour.

Has anyone had success using masonry Paint indoors?

I'll probably just buy a tester pot and try it on a small area first.

Thanks
Robin

Using masonry paint indoors can be potentially harmful - so short answer has to be, don't use it inside.

Why do you think masonry paint will be better than emulsion for your job?

Have you considered some kind of sealer or primer before applying emulsion?

There are emulsion base coats you can use but surface ready mixed smoother maybe better?
