Vaillant VUW282e, much loved old faithful.
Changed diverter valve. Found the diaphragm had a hole and was very perished so should be golden. All looks good but when filling boiler, water dripping from lower pump union. It's an o-ring seal, and I didn't have a new one (diverter didn't come with one, just fibre washers). Old one looked ok but clearly not good enough. Noticed a lot of old silicone sealant, looks like someone had the same problem. I had some K2 high temp silicone (marketed as auto gasket seal) so I repeated the crime and now waiting 24h to try again.
Will it work???
