Mcalpine Anti Syphon trap

hi all,

go one of these today and notice that the valve has a blue cap inside it.

do i need to remove this or leave it as it is?

I think you are talking about the little flap inside?

If so leave it alone.

If not - post a picture.

its not the flap part.

please see images below. sorry they are so big!

1st and 2nd are the cap on its own.
3rd is the valve without the cap
4th is the valve with the cap but without the top that screws on.

i think the blue cap would stop air getting in???

Leave it in place, replace the screw cap. They actually vent through the hole at the bottom of the anti-syphon turret:
