MCB Terminals (identification of)

Hi All,

Could someone please clarify for me if MCB's are required to have the incoming supply cable wired to one particular side or not?

They are generally used with the busbar at the bottom and outgoing cable at the top.

AFAIK they will work either way round, but if you're not using a busbar on the supply side then you may not get a sound connection if using a cable - depends on the design - check with the manufacturer.

I often see them fed from the top in machine control panels, depends which way the wiring loom is run
