ordered some doors and they’re not arriving for a couple of weeks. I have some 18mm ply i am going to put up where the old door was in the kitchen in the meantime. just wondering what kind of hinges i would need?

I think it would have to be a strap hinge?

but if you add softwood batten all round the edges, like the frame of an LBF door, you could use butt hinges and hopefully re-use them on your permanent doors when ready. You could also use bolts and locks as the thickness would be sufficient. A temporary unreinforced ply panel will not keep a burglar out. For weather protection, have these battens on the weather side, not the internal side of the door. Ply will not withstand rain and damp on cut edges.

Lift-off hinges are a great boon.
