Hi All

I need to hinge some MDF doors, which are going to be the front of an airing cupboard. The plan was that they would sit outside of the cupboard, rather than within a frame, if that makes sense.

They're about 1m x 375mm(W) and they are 18mm thick. Can I get away with standard Butt hinges, or would I have to use 'kitchen cupboard style' hinges?

Many thanks

yes 3 would do but me being cautious would use 4 x65mm hinges

just remember you will need around 25mm from a wall around 16mm for the hinge to sit on and a spare 6mm for adjustment from memory so around 60mm wide frames

i would just use kitchen hinges they are so simple if you are face mounting doors and not frame mounting.

blum do alot of good diagrams to help with spacing and setup etc. its the best for mdf as you will get splitting in the end grain of mdf if you plan to fit butt hinges.
