MDF Edge

I shall be routing the edge of 25mm MDF and then give it a painted finish. is there a product that I can seal the edge with to prevent the paint soaking away into the MDF. I have some "knotting" kicking around, will this work?

MDF primer works well. Anything you use will need several applications denibbed between each application

What is meant by the term, 'denibbed'?

basically lightly sanded, enough to take up the raised grain that the wet paint causes, but not too much so as to take off the paint coating, in this case I would use 400grit.
