The mains is 25mm MDPE joined to 15mm copper. That copper needs to be a bit longer. Can I just take the the copper out of that coupling if I slacken it off. Or is this one of those things where I need new O rings/grabs etc.

thanks

Thanks Dan.

What you can't see is that just off to the left is the 90deg compression elbow that I need to cut off. I could extend the copper by soldering a straight joint onto it. But it's about 6 inches from the MDPE joint. I've done a fair bit of soldering, but I'm not sure I can do it fast enough to avoid damaging the plastic. Heat going along the pipe. Also I'll have to do it flat on the deck, and the only time I've had a soldered joint fail was when little water trickled back along the pipe.

It looks like Plasson. (Is there any branding on it?)
It is a straight coupler, MDPE to MDPE, with a copper adaptor in one end. New adaptor should only be about 3 to 4 quid. If you can find a Plasson stockist.
I would not re-use the old one.
